Job Description

The Operations Manager - Logistics plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the supply chain processes within an organization. This position is critical to ensuring that the logistics operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's goals. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing logistics coordinators, developing policies, and fostering a seamless workflow between various departments to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in logistics management, strategic and tactical planning skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team. This role demands a detail-oriented individual with an analytical mindset who can leverage technology to maximize operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that meet the company’s overall objectives.
  • Oversee daily logistics operations and ensure processes adhere to company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of logistics coordinators and staff effectively.
  • Analyze operational performance data to determine areas for logistics process improvements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with third-party logistics service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Design and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising service quality.
  • Monitor the logistics budget and identify financial variances for corrective actions.
  • Facilitate communication between logistics teams and other functional departments.
  • Utilize technology and software systems for data management and operational transparency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on logistics performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Proven ability in managing complex logistics networks and optimizing supply chains.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze data and create actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities for diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in logistics and ERP software systems for operational management.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-functional collaboration.
