Job Description

As a Merchandise Planner at our company, you'll play a vital role in shaping our merchandising strategies to achieve optimal product distribution and sales performance. You will analyze inventory trends, forecast stock needs, and develop initiatives to align product availability with consumer demand. Your expertise will drive successful planning, communication, and implementation of merchandising solutions that maximize profitability and sales potential. This position requires a strategic thinker who is well-versed in inventory management, financial analysis, and retail operations. Responsibilities

  • Analyze and forecast inventory requirements to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize sales and profit opportunities.
  • Collaborate with buyers and vendors to select the appropriate merchandise mix.
  • Monitor sales trends and make recommendations for product rotations and promotions.
  • Evaluate and adjust inventory allocation to mitigate overstock and stockout situations.
  • Communicate and coordinate merchandising strategies with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform regular financial analysis to evaluate the profitability of merchandise plans.
  • Manage the merchandise open-to-buy budget to optimize inventory investment.
  • Provide insights into consumer behavior and market trends affecting product performance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in merchandise planning.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management on planning outcomes.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to refine inventory forecasting and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandise planning or inventory management.
  • Strong analytic skills with proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with retail planning software and a high degree of computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing forecast plans and strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
