Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and personable Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is crucial, as you will be the first point of contact for our patients. You should possess excellent communication skills and have a warm and friendly demeanor to create a welcoming atmosphere. As a Medical Receptionist, your primary responsibility will be to manage the front desk operations of our medical facility, which includes patient scheduling, managing insurance verifications, and maintaining patient records. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring no overlapping bookings occur.
  • Answer and manage incoming calls on a multi-line telephone system promptly and professionally.
  • Verify patient insurance information and handle any billing inquiries accurately.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Input and update patient information into the electronic health records system efficiently.
  • Coordinate and communicate with medical staff to ensure smooth office workflow.
  • Assist patients with filling out necessary medical forms and documentation.
  • Handle and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries promptly.
  • Prepare and maintain the reception area, including managing supplies and inventory.
  • Provide support to the medical team with clerical tasks as needed and directed.
  • Ensure all front desk operations comply with internal policies and legal regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical setting is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for success.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic computer skills are needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and professional telephone etiquette are important.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced and busy environment is crucial.
