Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our Trade Services team. The successful candidate will play a critical supervisory role in ensuring trade transactions are processed effectively, risks are minimized, and service standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the review and authorisation of trade transactions, ensuring compliance with delegated limits and Trade Processing (TP) system thresholds.
  • Safeguard both client and bank interests by assessing transaction accuracy and risk.
  • Align workflows with service benchmarks and internal efficiency goals.
  • Serve as a primary contact for both the Customer Service Group and external clients, addressing enquiries and resolving issues.
  • Monitor transactions to ensure obligations and timelines are met and highlight irregularities to leadership for timely resolution.
  • Inspire, guide, and support team members to foster high morale and engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to internal standards, operating procedures, and relevant Group policies.
  • Drive participation in key operational and staff engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure correct application of service charges and proper documentation for any fee waivers.
  • Support training and capability development of Trade Services staff to build operational excellence.
  • Manage operational risks and maintain compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) frameworks, reporting concerns as necessary.
  • Oversee document preparation and flow for onward processing at the Shared Services Centre (SSC).
  • Authorise relevant documentation such as Letters of Credit (LCs) and guarantees when required.
  • Supervise day-to-day execution of all Trade Services functions, with a focus on productivity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to refine and align internal processes with evolving business needs.

Key Stakeholders

Internal

Teams within Customer Service, Treasury, Financial Control Division, Information Technology (IT), Administration, Operational Control Centre (OCC), Credit, and Global Business Services (GBS).

External

Client representatives, shipping agents, insurance firms, correspondent banks, and other Group offices.

Other Responsibilities

  • Uphold the banks integrity and reputation by ensuring risk-aware Judgements and professional handling of client matters.
  • Navigate operational issues with sound judgment and maturity.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team environment with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Maintain the organisations status as a prominent Trade Services institution.
  • Support ongoing risk assessment and mitigation efforts.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Experience in Trade Services operations, within a banking environment.
  • A university degree is required.
  • Familiarity with bank procedures and control measures.
