Job Purpose

Our Procurement & Logistics group focuses on aircraft services as well as general services. They negotiate and manage contracts with third-party suppliers and find ways to mitigate costs. The Manager, Procurement (Ground Support Equipment) will manage and execute procurement and sourcing for assigned categories within Emirates Group. Focus on creating value, reducing costs, and ensuring efficiency through strong supplier management, contract negotiation, and process implementation. Align category-specific strategies with business goals while following company policies and best practices. The Manager Procurement Category will be specialised in managing procurement and supply chain for the assigned category.

In This Role, You Will

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the category strategies ensuring alignment with Emirates Group business objectives. Conduct regular risk assessments, spend and market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and market conditions to identify opportunities for value creation, cost optimisation, risk mitigation, improvement and innovation.
  • Engage with all stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of business strategic objectives and ongoing requirements and to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes. Act as the primary point of contact for the category, representing procurement in high-level discussions and negotiations.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling annual work plan, reviewed quarterly with senior category stakeholders, to ensure ongoing supply and timely delivery of new requirements. Actively seek opportunities for cost and quality improvements to meet operational deadlines.
  • Execute full sourcing events, including definition of the sourcing strategy, pre-qualification and evaluation of suppliers, preparation of tender documents, sourcing, and negotiation of terms and condition, preparation of Recommendations to Award (RTA) documents and completion of contractual documentation including appropriate approval and signature.
  • Manage and assure the preparation of Recommendations to Award (RTA) to ensure full compliance with procurement processes and procedures, best value proposition, alignment with Emirates Group ESG objectives and overall quality and accuracy, ensure approvals in adherence to the Procurement Procedures Manual and in the Authorities Manual.
  • Manage active contracts to ensure continuity of supply and appropriate contractual terms and conditions with amendments to terms being updated and maintained as required. Ensure continuous project management for all source-to-pay activities, with timely delivery and appropriate escalation of issues to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure support, assess supply risk, drive innovation, and improve performance. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Champion the adoption and optimization of procurement systems (e.g., EPIC, iDoc, Oracle, Cat360) to streamline processes and improve data transparency and accuracy. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in procurement activities.
  • Execute and support other activities, roles, responsibilities, or tasks as directed by the line management or as required by the organization to meet business needs and ensure operational flexibility.

Qualification

To be considered for this role you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Honours with 10+ years in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • Recommended Qualifications: Minimum of one of the following qualifications: MCIPS, CIPS, CPP, CSMP, CPSM, IPSCMI, CIPP, CPPP, CISCP, CICCM, CIPN, CITLP, CISM, CMPO or advanced qualification to manage procurement and supply chain on an international scale.
  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the aviation or related industry
  • Experience in the airline or travel industry is highly desirable.

Knowledge/skills

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, category management, and strategic sourcing. Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements.
  • Experience and knowledge of give markets for specific categories in support of developing robust category strategies in response to business requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills are required as engagement and relationship building with business stakeholders and key suppliers is critical.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
