Job Description

A Loss Prevention Officer plays a critical role in safeguarding a company's assets, ensuring the safety of employees, and providing a secure shopping environment for customers. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and preventing potential theft or security risks, conducting investigations related to loss or security breaches, and collaborating with other departments to implement effective loss prevention strategies. Your keen attention to detail and strong observational skills will be crucial in detecting dishonest activities. The officer is also expected to maintain detailed documentation of investigations and relevant findings, support in training staff on security protocols, and work towards fostering a culture of safety and vigilance throughout the organization. By maintaining a visible presence, you will deter theft and reassure both employees and customers of their safety.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorized access and theft.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
  • Install, manage, and maintain surveillance systems to monitor activities.
  • Investigate suspicious activities and incidents to identify perpetrators.
  • Work with law enforcement to report and resolve cases of theft or vandalism.
  • Train employees on security protocols and theft prevention techniques.
  • Create and maintain detailed reports of security incidents and findings.
  • Assist in conducting inventory audits to identify possible stock discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Provide quick responses to emergency situations and alarms.
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence on the sales floor to deter theft.
  • Review security systems and make recommendations for improvements.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required for the role.
  • Prior experience in security or loss prevention is strongly preferred.
  • Strong observation skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration.
  • Proficient in handling security equipment and technology systems.
  • Strong physical fitness to perform patrolling duties effectively.
