Job Description

The Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of supply chain operations across the organization. They are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the logistics functions, ensuring the efficient transportation and storage of goods. Logistics Officers coordinate with various departments to streamline operations and ensure inventory is managed effectively. They possess strong analytical skills to identify and solve logistical challenges and must be adept at using logistics software for efficient logistics management. Additionally, they liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure seamless operations and maintain strong business relationships. This role is pivotal in optimizing the efficiency of supply networks and maximizing customer satisfaction through efficient and effective logistics management.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the transportation and storage of goods for the organization.
  • Develop logistics strategies that support optimal supply chain operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequacy and proper stock management.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to secure timely deliveries.
  • Conduct regular audits of logistics processes and systems efficiency.
  • Implement safety and regulatory compliance measures in all logistics processes.
  • Prepare accurate reports on logistics performance metrics for management review.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to a team of logistics personnel.
  • Use logistics software to optimize logistics efficiency and flow of information.
  • Identify and troubleshoot logistics issues to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation service providers.
  • Plan and manage logistics projects and ensure timely completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex logistics problems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for planning and prioritization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration.
