Purpose
At Edible Brands, the Lead QA Engineer plays a critical role in delivering high-quality digital experiences to our customers. This position not only leads the strategy and execution of quality assurance efforts across web and mobile platforms, but also actively contributes to testing and quality initiatives. As a hands-on leader, this role balances strategic oversight with direct involvement in test planning, execution, and automation.
Through technical expertise and strong cross-functional collaboration, the Lead QA Engineer drives best-in-class QA practices while managing team performance and continuously improving testing processes in a fast-paced eCommerce environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead by example as a hands-on QA engineer—personally executing test cases, debugging issues, and validating functionality across web and mobile platforms.
- Own and execute manual and automated test cases to ensure product quality across web and mobile platforms.
- Develop and implement QA policies, procedures, and best practices to support scalable, repeatable testing processes.
- Design and maintain comprehensive test plans based on project requirements, ensuring thorough test coverage.
- Drive the QA strategy by developing a balanced approach between manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to align on requirements, test coverage, and release readiness.
- Manage, lead, and support the QA team, including performance management, workload prioritization, and team development.
- Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and tools.
- Communicate QA status, risks, and issues clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
- Partner with engineering teams to quickly identify, triage, and resolve defects throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of QA Engineer experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
- Extensive experience in Grey Box testing with strong technical knowledge of application functionality and architecture
- Strong hands-on experience validating Web and Mobile App applications
- Ecommerce and Retail experience preferred
- Experience in test automation using industry-standard tools and frameworks
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

Six or more years of experience as a professional software engineer, with at least 2 years in a leadership or as a designated Lead Engineer
