Description
The Launch Program Manager in the GES-NA Launch Team is a junior-level position that is responsible for managing and delivering small to medium-scale launch projects with clearly defined scope and parameters. This role operates with mentor oversight, while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and strategies. The Launch Program Manager addresses issues impeding operational performance, follows standard operating procedures, and drives time-sensitive action items among cross-functional teams. They maintain strong connections with operations post-go-live, serving as the primary liaison to GES partners, identifying potential issues and escalating accordingly.
In cases where the PM is assigned moderately complex or medium-scale launch projects, they will receive support and/or guidance from Senior Launch Program Managers to ensure successful project delivery and to foster their professional growth.
Additionally, Launch Managers contribute to internal team process improvements, participate in organizational-level goals with regional impact, and work to enhance the partner and customer experience through continuous improvement of launch processes.
This role requires up to 75% regional travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Key job responsibilities
- Dive Deep into defined issues impeding operations ability to meet ramp expectations, leveraging peers and mentors to help find a solution and develop an action plan.
- Contributing to developing and iterating standard operating procedures to maintain best practices throughout the project lifecycle, helping to optimize cross-team processes for improved efficiency.
- Driving prioritized time-sensitive action items among cross-functional partner teams to deliver projects on time and with quality.
- Maintaining a strong connection with operations post-go-live, serving as the first point of contact for multiple engineering service partners and rapidly addressing identified issues.
- Implementing immediate short-term solutions while collaborating on long-term solutions, demonstrating the ability to navigate moderately complex operational challenges.
- Contributing to internal team process improvements across the value pillars: People Readiness, Physical & Virtual Setup Readiness, Stakeholder Coordination & Escalation, and Post-Launch Support and Continuous Improvement.
- Focused on running small- or medium-scale projects, and occasionally collaborating on projects that raise the bar on customer experience.
- Can prepare data-driven content for assigned projects, with a focus on becoming proficient in Amazons writing standards.
- Building trust and aligning efforts with both partners and customers to increase effectiveness, acting as a reliable business partner to operational teams.
- Contributes valuable perspectives when determining how to overcome obstacles impacting project delivery. Able to drive clearly defined actions that will lead to a solution.
- Sharing best practices with peers and demonstrating Amazon’s Leadership Principles in words and actions.

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System program experience
- 3+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or distribution industries experience
- 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience
- Bachelors degree in relevant field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) full time experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
- Experience in MS Access and SQL
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
- Experience using Microsoft Projects software
- Experience with material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance
- Experience working in an analytical environment with cross-functional teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
