The Junior Payroll Accountant is a vital member of our finance team, responsible for managing and executing essential payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely compensation for our employees. Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll transactions accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of year-end tax forms and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management promptly.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and other data for payroll processing.
  • Assist in audits by providing necessary payroll information and documentation.
  • Stay informed of changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in payroll system implementation and upgrades as necessary.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation to support payroll processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in payroll or accounting functions.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Office suite essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Excellent communication skills to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws related to payroll.
