Job Description

The Junior Estimator position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and assist in determining accurate cost projections for construction projects. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to gather and analyze project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings to understand the scope and necessary resource allocation.
  • Maintain updated records of cost estimation processes, data, and project schedules.
  • Assist in developing and refining standardized estimating processes and procedures for accuracy.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to verify existing conditions and consult with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budgets and track financial progress to ensure cost efficiency and adherence.
  • Prepare and present reports detailing estimation methodologies and justification to management.
  • Update and maintain a database of material and labor costs for future reference.
  • Provide support and input throughout the tender process, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Participate in post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in estimating or a similar construction-related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and project documentation effectively.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam or similar programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
