Junior Accountant

Role Objective

The Junior Accountant will provide vital support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to grow within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Recordkeeping: Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately

• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting guidelines.

• Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; investigate and resolve any discrepancies.

• Compliance & Audit: Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned. Provide documentation for annual audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Reporting: Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings and the drafting of budget forecasts.

• Data Management: Update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and immediately available when needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.

• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (internship experience is highly valued).

• Technical Skills: * Proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables).

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., ZOHO).

  • Understanding of IFRS

• Soft Skills: Excellent organizing abilities, great attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
