An IT Business Analyst is a crucial link between the business objectives of an organization and the technological capabilities available to achieve these goals. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas of improvement, developing feasible IT solutions, and ensuring successful implementation and enhancement of systems. The IT Business Analyst will perform a combination of planning, analyzing, and evaluating information supplied internally by stakeholders and externally by technical partners. They will work closely with project managers, developers, and business owners to translate functional requirements into technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, substantial knowledge of IT frameworks and business processes, and the ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues to stakeholders at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate the existing business systems and IT structures for optimization.
• Communicate directly with stakeholders to identify IT needs and technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for IT teams.
• Create and present detailed project plans and proposals for IT-based improvements.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit and document business processes and expectations.
• Develop test plans and scenarios to ensure system functionality and specifications are met.
• Collaborate with developers to design a cohesive solution according to business needs.
• Lead quality assurance processes and troubleshoot system issues as they arise.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews on the effectiveness of business solutions.
• Provide training sessions and support for users to understand updated systems.
• Establish performance metrics and implement monitoring to assess system efficiency.
• Maintain current knowledge of IT industry trends to improve business systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an IT Business Analyst preferred.
• Strong understanding of business processes and IT concepts and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies is an asset.
• Proven ability to work within cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
