Job Description

The role of an Assistant Nurse in the Outpatient Department (OPD) is a crucial position that supports the day-to-day operations of healthcare facilities. Working in OPD 06D25 specifically involves providing direct patient care, assisting doctors and nurses with their duties, and ensuring that administrative tasks are completed efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for patients entering the outpatient department, necessitating excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature. Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with the preparation and administration of patient care.
  • Ensure that all patient information is accurately recorded and updated daily.
  • Prepare examination rooms by ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Escort patients to treatment rooms and prepare them for examinations or treatments.
  • Monitor patient conditions by taking vital signs and reporting any changes promptly.
  • Assist doctors and nurses during medical procedures by handling instruments and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the outpatient department.
  • Support nursing staff with inventory management and supplies ordering as needed.
  • Provide compassionate care and address patient needs and questions effectively.
  • Coordinate efficiently with other healthcare staff to improve patient service delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization protocols to prevent infection in treatment areas.
  • Participate in continuous education opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Assistant Nurse or related certification or licensure.
  • At least two years of experience working in an outpatient or similar setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on communication and empathy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and data entry tasks.
  • Basic life support (BLS) or first aid certification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and high-quality healthcare standards.
