Job Description

The IP Coding Team Leader is a critical role responsible for leading and managing the team of IP coders to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of coding processes related to intellectual property data. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced coding professional to contribute to and sustain high-quality coding standards. The IP Coding Team Leader is tasked with overseeing day-to-day operations, setting objectives, and implementing strategies that align with corporate goals. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent leadership abilities and an extensive understanding of intellectual property management. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex legal documents and technical patents. This position is essential in maintaining data integrity and confidentiality while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of IP coders to achieve departmental goals.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of IP coding to maintain data integrity.
  • Coordinate daily operations and manage workflows to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing team members.
  • Analyze legal documents and patents to ensure comprehensive coding.
  • Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback regularly.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders to align on project objectives and timelines.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges faced by the coding team.
  • Compile and present reports on team performance and department statistics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with data security policies and confidentiality agreements.
  • Facilitate team meetings and represent the team in leadership discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP coding or a related area.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property management and legal documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Proficient in using coding software and tools associated with IP management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and make well-informed decisions under pressure.
