Job Description

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring that workplace environments comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of local, national, and international health and safety standards. The Inspector, HSE works closely with management and employees to create protocols and training programs that maintain and enhance workplace safety. They conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensure compliance, and promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the organization. They also play a critical role in incident investigations to devise plans that prevent repeat occurrences and minimize risk. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work under pressure.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective safety protocols and emergency response plans.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to management.
  • Facilitate training sessions to educate employees about health and safety practices.
  • Coordinate and oversee incident investigations and report findings accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, audits, and training sessions.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is regularly tested and maintained properly.
  • Advise on HSE policies and ensure alignment with legal requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to conduct risk assessments for new projects.
  • Promote a culture of safety through regular communication and updates.
  • Prepare and present detailed safety performance reports to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industrial safety trends and technological advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working in HSE roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local and international HSE regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills are required.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in conducting HSE training sessions for various audience levels.
  • Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools effectively.
  • Certification in safety management or a related qualification is preferred.
