Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in Indian cuisine, with the ability to prepare traditional and contemporary Indian dishes to the highest standards. The Indian Chef will be responsible for creating and executing a diverse menu that celebrates the rich flavors of India while incorporating modern culinary techniques. You must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a busy kitchen, maintain high food quality and safety standards, and work collaboratively with the rest of the restaurant team. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an authentic and innovative Indian cuisine menu.
  • Prepare and cook traditional and modern Indian dishes with precision.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation activities effectively.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and place orders as needed for ingredients.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff in cooking techniques.
  • Maintain the highest quality and consistency of all dishes served.
  • Stay updated with new trends and culinary techniques in Indian cuisine.
  • Work with management to plan special menus for events and parties.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source fresh and authentic Indian ingredients.
  • Ensure that all dishes are visually appealing and flavorful.
  • Handle guest feedback and strive to improve the dining experience continually.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a professional kitchen setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and culinary techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain high food quality and presentation standards consistently.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff and management.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification from a recognized institution preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
