Job Description

As an Import-Export Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the international trade operations of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing the import and export activities, ensuring compliance with both local and international regulations. Your role will involve coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party vendors to facilitate smooth and efficient transportation of goods. You will handle documentation, manage logistics, and ensure that all aspects of the import-export process are legally compliant and cost-effective. Additionally, you will work closely with various departments within the organization to align the company's import-export strategies with overall business objectives. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of global trade regulations and logistics.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to handle import and export shipping arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with import and export regulations and legal standards globally.
  • Prepare and manage all required shipping and customs documentation accurately.
  • Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with logistics providers for best pricing.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and problem resolution.
  • Conduct regular reviews of import-export processes for cost and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align trade activities with business objectives.
  • Stay updated on changes in foreign trade policies, tariffs, and exchange rates.
  • Provide training and support to other staff members on import-export procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, transactions, and other logistics data.
  • Develop risk management strategies for potential disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customs authorities and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in international trade or import-export roles.
  • Strong understanding of global shipping regulations and logistics principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using logistics and customs management software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
  • Fluency in a second language is highly desirable but not mandatory.
