Job Description

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that company operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. This position involves the development, implementation, and management of safety and environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The HSE Manager works closely with management teams and staff to promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness, reducing workplace incidents and environmental impacts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices. This role requires excellent communication and training skills to effectively convey policies and procedures to all levels of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE programs and policies for the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and environmental inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Coordinate with management to plan and execute emergency response drills effectively.
  • Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to employees on safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
  • Prepare and present reports on HSE metrics to management and stakeholders.
  • Train employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices regularly.
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Develop strategies to improve HSE culture within the organization continuously.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an HSE management role or related position.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable HSE regulations and standards.
  • Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Certification in HSE-related fields, such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM, is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and HSE management software applications.
