Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of a designated facility. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent leadership skills and attention to detail to ensure an outstanding experience for guests and staff. The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of the housekeeping staff, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility. They are responsible for planning and organizing workloads and ensuring that performance standards are consistently met. As the supervisor, one must possess the capability to address and resolve any concerns or complaints promptly and efficiently, ensuring that a high level of service is delivered at all times. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily activities of the housekeeping staff across shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with established cleanliness standards and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain superior cleanliness standards.
  • Develop work schedules that accommodate staffing needs and peak service periods.
  • Train new housekeeping staff in cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
  • Address staff inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and make orders as necessary.
  • Ensure that the facility’s housekeeping equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
  • Prepare reports on compliance, productivity, and staffing to management as required.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective facility operations.
  • Implement procedures to enhance efficiency and quality of housekeeping operations.
  • Support housekeeping staff in their tasks during busy periods to maintain standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory housekeeping role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-notch service.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, for interacting with staff and guests.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient with standard cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemical handling safety.
