Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead housekeeping staff to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas regularly to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing training to current staff members.
  • Coordinate things such as linen supplies and cleaning supplies with relevant personnel.
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules for the team members to follow.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests for housekeeping services.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies to maintain a healthy environment.
  • Assist in preparing staff rosters and assigning tasks according to team members’ strengths.
  • Conduct regular meetings with housekeeping staff to discuss performance and expectations.
  • Assist with budget management by monitoring overuse of supplies and resources.
  • Keep accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff attendance, and maintenance reports.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a housekeeping supervisor or similar role in hospitality.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail for maintaining high cleaning standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively in busy environments.
  • Good communication skills to interact with staff, management, and guests effectively.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and resource allocation practices in hospitality.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and methods, as well as safety and sanitation guidelines.
