Key Responsibilities

Conference Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and annual business plan for the conference portfolio to achieve financial and non-financial KPIs.
  • Identify, research, and launch new conference concepts aligned with emerging market trends, industry demand, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Drive revenue growth through delegate sales, sponsorship, partnerships, and strategic collaborations.
  • Develop high-value, attractive sponsorship and exhibitor packages tailored to conference audiences.
  • Optimize cost structures and manage P&L performance to ensure consistent profitability.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new industries, themes, and opportunities for conference expansion (Confex, summits, forums, executive roundtables).
  • Design compelling conference agendas by researching industry trends, engaging stakeholders, and validating content relevance.

Speaker & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level professionals across government entities, trade bodies, and leading organizations in the UAE and internationally.
  • Identify, secure, and manage high-profile speakers, moderators, sponsors, and VIP guests.
  • Ensure speaker commitment, presentation quality control, and program alignment with event objectives.
  • Develop long-term partnerships that enhance the credibility and positioning of the conference portfolio.

Conference Production & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end conference production, from concept development to on-site execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Liaise with clients and partners to define conference objectives, target audience, and value proposition.
  • Produce detailed event proposals including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal considerations, staffing plans, and budgets.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, PR, and logistics teams to ensure cohesive event delivery and strong market positioning.
  • Coordinate suppliers and manage on-site operations to ensure seamless execution.
  • Oversee delegate experience, including preparation of conference materials, delegate packs, and on-site support.
  • Supervise venue setup, event delivery, and post-event breakdown and reporting.

Financial & Budget Management

  • Develop, manage, and monitor conference budgets to maximize ROI and achieve profit targets.
  • Forecast revenues and expenses, ensuring cost control and margin optimization.
  • Conduct post-event financial analysis and performance reporting to stakeholders.

Marketing & Brand Management

  • Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to develop compelling campaigns that drive delegate and sponsor acquisition.
  • Work with designers and agencies to develop event branding, marketing collateral, brochures, and promotional materials.
  • Support sales teams with strategic briefs and market insights to enhance revenue conversion.

Governance & Process Management

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across conference planning and execution processes.
  • Participate in annual performance evaluations, with role evolution aligned to portfolio growth and organizational needs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in conference production, event management, or related leadership role.
  • Proven track record of launching and delivering profitable conferences.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and driving sponsorship revenue.
  • Excellent industry research and agenda development capabilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership ability with a hands-on management approach.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong budget management, forecasting, and cost control expertise.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to lead by example.
