Job Description

A Guest Service Agent plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests have a memorable experience at hotels or resorts through exceptional service and hospitality. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests either via phone or in-person, and involves responsibilities ranging from checking guests in and out, answering questions, and addressing concerns. The Guest Service Agent also works closely with various departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, and management, to coordinate and deliver outstanding service. This role demands excellent communication skills, an upbeat attitude, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Through their efforts, the Guest Service Agents help reinforce the brand's reputation for quality service and guest satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Greet all hotel guests with a welcoming and friendly demeanor upon arrival.
  • Assist guests with the check-in and check-out process following standard procedures.
  • Respond promptly and tactfully to any guest complaints, requests, or inquiries.
  • Provide accurate information to guests about hotel facilities and local attractions.
  • Process all reservations and cancellations efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to address guest needs promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, including those related to privacy and security.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and patience in challenging situations.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between guests and hotel departments for smooth operations.
  • Upsell hotel amenities and services to enhance guest experience and hotel revenue.
  • Monitor lobby activity and ensure it remains clean and inviting at all times.
  • Conduct regular audits of cash drawer and reconcile discrepancies as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or guest service roles preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor are essential.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software and hotel management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective guest interaction.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
