Job Description

The Merchandiser II position, coded 02A26, is a critical and dynamic role within our retail operations. This position requires both strategic planning and hands-on execution to ensure that our products are effectively displayed, marketed, and sold to meet our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in merchandising and a keen understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and supply chain, to develop and implement merchandising strategies that drive sales growth and enhance the customer experience. Strong analytical skills and creativity are essential to succeed in this role, as is the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to optimize product placement and sales.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to adjust merchandising plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align merchandising efforts with business goals.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure merchandising standards are upheld consistently.
  • Monitor competitor activities and adjust merchandising tactics to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports to evaluate merchandising effectiveness and identify improvements.
  • Oversee the execution of promotional activities, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and product availability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure a seamless supply of products.
  • Train and mentor junior merchandisers on company standards and merchandising best practices.
  • Utilize data analytics to forecast product demand and guide strategic merchandising decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry developments to continually enhance merchandising initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a retail merchandising position.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and merchandising software applications.
  • Creative problem-solver with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
