Job Description

The Finance Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the finance department by performing various financial and administrative tasks. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who excels at managing accounts, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Finance Assistant helps maintain the accuracy of financial records, assists with budgeting, and prepares reports to support informed decision-making. Strong communication skills are necessary, as the role often involves liaising with other departments and external partners. A successful Finance Assistant demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for numbers, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring financial statements and reports for accuracy.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts with detailed data analysis.
  • Assist in day-to-day financial operations and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Coordinate with auditors and assist in the completion of audits efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze financial discrepancies, resolve issues, and report findings to management.
  • Participate in financial planning meetings to support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department, including data entry tasks.
  • Manage financial document filing system ensuring documents are easily accessible.
  • Support the finance team in implementing process improvements for efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a financial or administrative support role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and transactions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and trends.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse interactions.
