Job Description

An Executive in Logistics is a vital position within an organization's supply chain and logistics team. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely movement of goods or services from origin to destination. The Executive will coordinate with various internal departments and external partners, ensuring that logistics operations align with the company's strategic objectives. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to manage schedules, resolve issues, and improve efficiency. This position will involve negotiating with suppliers, carriers, and other service providers to optimize cost and service levels. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and an excellent understanding of logistics software and systems.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage logistics and supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures aligning with business goals.
  • Negotiate terms and rates with carriers and suppliers to optimize costs.
  • Monitor and analyze web traffic trends to optimize logistics performance.
  • Utilize logistical software to oversee order tracking and inventory control efficiently.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints and address them promptly.
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal teams to improve service deliverables.
  • Prepare and analyze logistics reports for management to inform decision-making.
  • Maintain databases of logistics information to ensure accuracy and currency.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws impacting logistics activities.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and audits of logistics partners.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance logistics efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address logistics challenges.
  • Proficiency in logistics software such as TMS, WMS, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills for dealing with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong negotiation skills to foster beneficial agreements with third-party logistics partners.
