An Estimation Engineer specializing in Instrumentation plays a key role in the preliminary phases of project development, providing essential cost analysis that informs decision-making and project viability in the field of instrumentation. This position involves a comprehensive evaluation of project needs and constraints, analyzing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting services specifically related to instrumentation requirements. The Estimation Engineer is tasked with compiling detailed estimates that are a critical component in defining budgets and setting realistic project goals. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including project managers, engineers, and procurement departments to prepare competitive bids, ensuring all estimates are precise, comprehensive, and aligned with industry standards and company objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for instrumentation projects.
  • Review project documentation to determine requirements for instrumentation involved in the scope.
  • Identify potential cost savings for instrumentation installations and incorporate them into estimates.
  • Collaborate with project management to align project scope with estimations.
  • Perform risk assessments related to cost elements of instrumentation projects.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of rates for materials, labor, and equipment specific to instrumentation.
  • Contribute to detailed proposals and bid documents for instrumentation-related works.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain cost specifics and timelines for instrumentation supplies.
  • Utilize sophisticated estimating software and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage multiple estimation projects simultaneously, ensuring punctual and precise delivery of requirements.
  • Assist in post-project reviews to refine estimation processes for future projects.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and pricing for instrumentation technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably with a focus on Instrumentation.
  • Proven experience at least 3-5 years in estimation within the instrumentation sector.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills for precise cost analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in estimative software tools and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines consistently.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for instrumentation.
