Job Purpose

The Engineering Projects section specializes in evaluating, specifying, and negotiating new and used aircraft acquisitions. We oversee the entire process, from initial evaluation and assembly inspection to final delivery and acceptance.

We develop detailed specifications for aircraft and new system installations, including Passenger Entertainment and Connectivity Services (IFE) and Cabin Interiors. Our team ensures that all regulatory requirements, safety standards, functionality, and maintainability are met for each aircraft's entry into service.

As an Engineering Project Officer specialised in CAD software, you will provide detailed technical support to the Engineering Projects team to maintain standards in development of schedules and support specifications of configuration and equipment for new aircraft projects in Cabin Interior, Inflight Entertainment (IFE) and/or Avionics.

This role requires experience using CAD software, preferably AutoCAD, to develop aircraft interior drawings, layouts, and 3D models. Previous aviation industry experience is preferred. Knowledge of 3D modelling tools such as Rhino or Blender would be an advantage.

In This Role, You Will

  • Analyse and compile product data including product offerings, technical specifications, and performance data during aircraft specification evaluation review of product presentations to finalise selections.
  • Review and extract project information and supporting data from existing airplane baseline programs and industry trends to adapt to new airplane programs.
  • Support IT enhancement of existing and new business concepts/ processes such as workflows to support fleet expansions, department data protection and integrity, regular maintenance information, updates of specification and Engineering Procedure Manual (EPM). Adapt and explore methodologies to use manufacturer's digital data and software.
  • Where applicable, develop 3D models and presentations for EK fleet that includes design improvements, aircraft cabin designs, floor plans of interior arrangement and Layout of Passenger Arrangement (LOPA) using software programs such as AutoCAD. Create and build digital representation and templates repository of cabin interior elements. Conduct engineering studies through data collection, field studies and generating visual aids including technical drawings.
  • Contribute to the investigation of issues and defects of cabin items to generate engineering solutions and effectively communicate technical information within various internal departments using different aircraft technical documentations.
  • To assist Project Engineers in preparation of confidential specifications and tender documents matrix for new aircraft programs. Maintain specification documentation, cost summaries, aircraft specification matrix up to date and monitor project schedules and new airplane deliveries. To coordinate for airplane deliveries with supporting departments.
  • Assess the study of new products and technology used in Pax IFE and Pax Inflight Entertainment Connectivity (IFEC) and assist in IFEC specification preparation for Emirates fleet.
  • Review the evaluation of new technology Products and Regulatory Compliance mandates for Avionics and Operations in Communication, Navigation and Surveillance domains.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Aeronautical Engineering), an aviation-related discipline, or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Virtual Reality (VR), and 3D modelling tools like Rhino or Blender.
  • Experience producing aircraft cabin interior drawings, layouts, technical drawings, and design documentation.
  • Good understanding of aircraft systems, components, and powerplants, with the ability to interpret and work from aircraft engineering drawings.
