Job Description

As an Elevator Technician, you will be an integral part of a specialized team responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and escalators. Your work will ensure that these vital vertical transportation systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will closely follow safety protocols and industry standards to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems within elevators and escalators. Your role also demands staying updated with the latest technology and procedures, as these systems incorporate advanced electronics and controls. Your ability to analyze problems, provide fast resolutions, and communicate effectively with clients will be paramount. You will be expected to work on various projects, from small residential buildings to large commercial complexes, sometimes in challenging environments such as construction sites or high-rise buildings.


Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance and safety inspections of elevators and escalators.
  • Diagnose faults and efficiently repair elevator and escalator systems.
  • Install new elevator and escalator systems according to design specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and construction teams on installation projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Document all service and installation activities accurately and timely.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and operable condition.
  • Provide high-quality customer service, addressing client queries effectively.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements in elevator and escalator systems.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve technical skills and knowledge.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out prompt repairs.
  • Follow strict safety protocols to ensure personal and public safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in elevator or escalator maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good physical condition to maneuver in confined and elevated spaces.
  • Outstanding communication skills for interaction with team members and clients.
  • Willingness to work overtime and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for travel to job sites.
  • Commitment to observe all safety regulations and standards diligently.
