Draftsman

A draftsman,(HVAC, PLUMBING & ELECTRICAL)  also known as a drafter, plays a crucial role in translating ideas into visual representations that guide the creation of buildings, machinery, and other complex structures. With a keen eye for detail and precision, the draftsman bridges the gap between conceptualization and reality by producing detailed technical drawings and blueprints. They work closely with engineers, architects, and designers to ensure every specification is meticulously captured. This role requires proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and an understanding of engineering and architectural principles. The ability to visualize and communicate ideas effectively is paramount, making this a dynamic and rewarding career for those passionate about design and technical detail.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to understand project requirements.
• Ensure technical drawings adhere to industry standards and regulations.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and improve design accuracy.
• Conduct site visits to gather data and ensure drawings align with project conditions.
• Analyze design concepts and prepare preliminary sketches for review by project leaders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current design practices and technological advancements.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation and specifications to support construction projects.
• Coordinate with construction teams to address technical challenges and modify designs.
• Ensure all design work is saved and backed up according to company protocols.
• Assist in the development of project timelines to ensure timely completion of drawings.
• Provide technical advice and support to junior draftsmen and newly hired team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles and terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate work.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret technical plans and translate them into functional designs.
• Previous experience as a draftsman or in a similar technical drawing role preferred.
