Job Description

As a Desktop Support Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems and networks within an organization. You will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technology-related issues, providing timely and efficient solutions to technical problems. Your role involves diagnosing hardware and software issues, installing new applications, setting up new devices, and maintaining the overall health of IT systems. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work efficiently under pressure. You will work closely with other IT professionals to resolve complex issues, ensuring that all users have the necessary IT support to perform their roles efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues for employees.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers and peripheral devices.
  • Set up and configure new hardware and software applications.
  • Manage and support mobile devices, printers, and other technology equipment.
  • Provide remote support via phone, email, or chat for offsite users.
  • Collaborate with IT team to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical processes and procedures.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols to protect company data.
  • Conduct regular system updates and hardware upgrades as needed.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff regarding tech equipment.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of technological assets and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a desktop support or similar technical support role.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, network troubleshooting, and security software.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with employees.
  • Capability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple technical requests.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
