Job Description

An IT Administrator is a critical role within any organization that relies on technology infrastructure to support its operations. As an IT Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the organization's IT assets, ensuring the smooth operation of IT services, and providing technical support to employees. You will be tasked with overseeing the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of hardware, software, and networks. Your expertise will be essential in safeguarding the integrity and security of the organization's data and networks. You will work closely with other IT professionals and departments to develop strategies to optimize the IT infrastructure and enhance system efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of computer systems, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and excellent communication skills to address the needs of users effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of computer hardware, software, and networks.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the organization's data.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in the organization's IT systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute IT projects and updates.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to employees on IT-related issues.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Ensure regular data backups and develop a reliable disaster recovery plan.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and assess their potential to improve operations.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors for IT equipment and service procurement and repairs.
  • Analyze system logs to identify potential issues and optimize system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network management.
  • Familiarity with operating systems and server management (e.g., Windows, Linux).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in network security, data backup, and recovery solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical staff.
