Dubai British School Jumeira are currently recruiting for a number of

exceptional educational professionals to become founding members of the Secondary team for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Ideally, we would like someone to start in August 2025 for this position but we are open to January 2026 start as well.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for suitably qualified professionals who are passionately innovative, cognitively agile and committed to continual professional learning.

The DT teacher that joins our team will need to have the capacity and competence to develop schemes of work in the subject areas that compliment an integrated approach. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with other secondary school colleagues to ensure that students’ understanding of the principles of design are developed in an age appropriate, contextually relevant and meaningful way in the short (lesson by lesson), medium (over course of a school year) and longer term (over the course of a key stage). We expect that our teachers inspire a love of the subject within students that goes beyond academic success and curriculum delivery.

Our School

Dubai British School Jumeira is part of the Taaleem family of schools and will offer an exceptional learning experience for more than 1600 students aged between 3 and 18 years of age. Our Curriculum 

DBSJ follows the National Curriculum for England, from EYFS through to GCSE, BTEC and A Level examination courses. The curriculum is significantly enhanced by the local context and culture. The opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive, competitive, and varied extra-curricular activities programme.

Skills

Highly qualified in relevant domain of education to the role being applied for (Art and Design)

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

At least two years teaching experience

A proven record of consistent inspirational teaching and learning

Knowledge and understanding of monitoring student learning and adaptable/responsive teaching methods to support ongoing growth of students

A commitment to the wellbeing of all students

An understanding of, and dedication to the broader school life

The ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced international, multicultural, and demanding environment
