Job Description

Directed Energy Research Center are seeking a highly motivated Deputy SAR System Engineer to join TII and contribute to the development and implementation of a spaceborne SAR payload.

This role will be a key player in designing, developing, and optimizing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems for remote sensing for Earth observation applications. The assigned candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with the payload requirements and mission objectives. The role requires a broad understanding of various engineering topics and a strong willingness to learn quickly

Job Description:

  • Assist in defining and documenting the SAR system requirements and specifications.
  • Support on the process to flow-down the SAR system requirements into the payload sub-systems.
  • Support SAR system design, modelling, and simulation activities
  • Help implement and test SAR signal processing algorithms
  • Contribute to system integration, anomaly investigations and optimization tasks
  • Assist in lab testing campaigns, including setup and data collection
  • Participate in analysis of SAR imagery and performance validation
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, AIT and systems engineers across teams
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Stay updated on emerging SAR technologies and techniques
  • Manage requirement definition, interface control, and technical trade studies to ensure SAR payload mission success
  • Support the senior SAR system engineer as a deputy in the daily activities
  • Document testing procedures, results, and corrective actions

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in radar signal processing, satellite imaging, or geospatial technologies
  • Understanding in RF and microwave systems and integration principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with system engineering principles and practices, such as requirements management and system validation.
