Job Description

A Demand & Supply Planner plays a critical role in ensuring that a company’s supply chain processes align with its customer demand requirements. This role involves detailed forecasting, planning, and coordination across the organization to optimize inventories and ensure a smooth flow of products from suppliers to customers. The Demand & Supply Planner analyzes data and market trends to make informed decisions that help balance supply with demand. They collaborate with various departments including sales, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment in strategy and to support the achievement of business objectives. This position is vital for optimizing the company's efficiency and customer satisfaction while minimizing costs.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical sales data and market trends for accurate demand forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to incorporate promotional plans into forecasts.
  • Monitor and adjust supply plans based on changes in demand and market conditions.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
  • Develop solutions for identified challenges in the supply chain processes.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate planning metrics to management.
  • Utilize advanced planning systems to automate and enhance forecasting processes.
  • Maintain alignment between supply plans and financial objectives of the company.
  • Support new product launches by integrating them into demand and supply plans.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on demand forecast accuracy variances and refine models.
  • Work closely with operations to manage capacity and resource planning effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand and supply planning roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets effectively.
  • Proficiency with demand forecasting and planning software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar is desirable.
