Key responsibilities/What you do:

The Database Administrator Engineer is primarily responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing the company's database systems, including Oracle and PostgreSQL, across the full portfolio. This includes overseeing database architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning, and implementing high availability and disaster recovery strategies. The DBA also handles advanced troubleshooting, monitors critical database events, and ensures thorough documentation is maintained. Additionally, this role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement technical solutions that align with the company’s business and IT objectives

Key requirements/What you bring:

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator Engineer, with expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience in high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices for database systems, including data encryption and access control.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud).
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex database issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with capacity planning and database scalability.
  • Ability to design and implement automated monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, PostgreSQL Certified) are a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, SQL) for automation and routine tasks.
