Job Description

A Credit Manager is a key professional who plays a critical role in managing the financial risk and ensuring the overall financial health of an organization. This role involves analyzing credit data and financial statements to determine the risk involved in lending money or extending credit. Credit Managers must establish credit policies, manage the credit granting process, and maintain close relationships with clients to ensure timely repayment. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clients’ credit data and financial statements for risk assessment.
  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize risks.
  • Manage and monitor the credit granting process within the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Approve or reject credit applications based on thorough analysis.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing clients' credit positions and limits.
  • Advise on credit issues and provide solutions to address credit risks.
  • Oversee collection efforts and ensure timely repayment from clients.
  • Report to senior management regarding credit metrics and risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to facilitate customer negotiations and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards in credit processes.
  • Prepare detailed credit analysis reports and documentation for management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Credit Manager or similar credit control role.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to handle client interactions.
  • Knowledge of credit analysis techniques and risk management practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing credit accounts.
