Job Description

The Construction Manager plays a critical role in the successful completion of construction projects. This position involves overseeing the planning, design, and construction of various types of infrastructure, ensuring that projects meet design specifications and are completed on time and within budget. The Construction Manager works closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to coordinate all aspects of the construction process. Mastery of project management tools and techniques is essential, as is the ability to lead and manage construction teams effectively. The role requires a deep understanding of construction methodologies and excellent problem-solving abilities to address any issues that arise during the building process. The Construction Manager must also ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors on site.
  • Review project specifications and blueprints, and manage changes when necessary.
  • Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations at all stages.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Prepare internal and external reports documenting project progress and changes.
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved on time without compromising quality.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues promptly.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Manage and mitigate project risks to minimize impacts on project timelines.
  • Allocate project resources efficiently to maximize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Ensure financial projections, budgeting, and billing processes are completed accurately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • Proven experience in construction management or a similar managerial role.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse project teams.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore or PlanGrid.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and project budgeting techniques.
