Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commis l to join our culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Commis l, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Master basic cooking methods, including ingredient cutting techniques and daily mise en place preparation for assigned stations
Prepare food items according to standard recipe cards, maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
Adhere to and implement food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all kitchen activities
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment
Manage daily stock of raw materials and ingredients for the assigned kitchen area
Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Assist in the preparation and execution of menu items as directed by senior kitchen staff
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service
Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs
Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
Qualifications
Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or equivalent culinary education
Strong knowledge of basic cooking methods and kitchen operations
Proficiency in ingredient cutting techniques and mise en place preparation
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and recipes
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Basic math skills for recipe conversions and inventory management
Ability to read and follow recipes and standard operating procedures
Knowledge of international cuisines, particularly those popular in Dubais diverse culinary scene
English language proficiency; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
Legal eligibility to work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Additional Information
Minimum 1 year of experience in the same or similar role
Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
