Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis III for our pastry kitchen to join our culinary team. As a Commis III, you will play a fundamental role in supporting our chefs by preparing various ingredients to create delightful pastries and desserts for our esteemed guests. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen operations. You will be involved in the efficient production of baked goods while assisting in maintaining an organized and clean work environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pastry chef in daily operations and preparation activities.
  • Prepare and execute basic baking tasks as directed by the pastry chef.
  • Ensure that all ingredients are stored and used at the correct temperatures.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications under the supervision of the pastry chef.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes or personal judgment.
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete assigned tasks within allotted time frames.
  • Adopt health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with kitchen regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Contribute to the development of new pastry creations and presentation ideas.
  • Perform other duties as required by the senior kitchen staff or management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in pastries or baking.
  • Basic understanding of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, recipes, and procedures with precision.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • High level of attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Capability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per kitchen requirements.
