Job Description

We are seeking a personable, attentive Cashier to manage all transactions with our customers accurately and efficiently. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing all transactions, handling the cash register, and interacting with our customers to ensure they have a pleasant experience. Responsibilities

  • Accurately manage cash, credit, and debit card transactions with customers.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and maintain a friendly atmosphere.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization around the cash register area.
  • Keep track of all transactions made during a shift and balance the till appropriately.
  • Coordinate with other store staff to resolve customer queries and issues promptly.
  • Greet customers warmly and answer any questions they might have concerning purchases.
  • Inform customers of promotions, sales, and special offers they might benefit from.
  • Relate product information to customers to guide their purchasing decisions effectively.
  • Ensure all items scanned and prices are accurate to prevent errors in the transaction.
  • Identify price discrepancies and notify management or appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Support in restocking shelves and inventory management when necessary.
  • Follow established security procedures to safeguard company's property and mitigate loss.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent mathematical skills to handle transactions with accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Basic knowledge of cash register operation and payment processing systems.
  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and courteous in high-pressure situations.
