Our Restructuring and Liability Management Advisory practice advises companies, shareholders, lenders, sovereign-related entities and other stakeholders on complex capital structure challenges, balance sheet optimisation, distressed situations, recapitalisations and strategic alternatives. As activity across the Middle East continues to evolve, we are looking to expand our Dubai-based team with the addition of an experienced Vice President.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing franchise and play a leading role in advising clients across the Middle East, North Africa and broader EMEA region on complex restructuring, liability management and special situations transactions.
The successful candidate will work directly with senior bankers and clients, leading transaction execution while helping to develop and grow Jefferies' restructuring advisory presence across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of restructuring, refinancing, recapitalisation, liability management and distressed M&A mandates across the Middle East and broader EMEA region.
- Manage all aspects of transaction execution, including financial analysis, stakeholder coordination, due diligence and project management.
- Develop and review complex financial models, liquidity analyses, business plans, capital structure assessments and valuation materials.
- Prepare high-quality client presentations, strategic reviews, board materials and transaction documentation.
- Work closely with corporate clients, financial institutions, sovereign-related entities, private equity sponsors and creditor groups.
- Support Managing Directors in business development efforts, market coverage and origination activities.
- Identify and evaluate new restructuring and special situations opportunities across the region.
- Lead and mentor Analysts and Associates, ensuring high-quality work product and professional development.
- Coordinate effectively with legal advisers, accounting firms, lenders, investors and other external stakeholders throughout transaction processes.
Requirements
- 6-10+ years of relevant experience within an investment bank, restructuring advisory practice, financial advisory firm or leading professional services organisation.
- Strong transaction experience across restructuring advisory, special situations, leveraged finance, debt advisory or corporate finance.
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of debt products, capital structures, credit markets and restructuring solutions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and execute transactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience interacting with senior management teams, boards, lenders and investors.
- Exceptional presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing junior team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
