Job Description

The Business Development Manager (Event Sponsorship) is a critical role responsible for driving growth through the acquisition and retention of corporate sponsorships for events. This position requires a forward-thinking and strategic approach to identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with new and existing sponsors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for events and a deep understanding of the sponsorship landscape within the industry. They will be responsible for developing sponsorship packages, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that sponsors receive maximum value from their investment. The role demands strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Success in this role means meeting and exceeding revenue targets while ensuring client satisfaction and sustainable business partnerships.


Responsibilities

  • Identify potential sponsors and create innovative sponsorship packages tailored to client needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to acquire and retain corporate sponsorships for events.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with sponsors to ensure lasting partnerships.
  • Negotiate sponsorship contracts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements for all parties.
  • Collaborate with the event management team to align sponsorship opportunities with event goals.
  • Create compelling presentations and pitches to prospective sponsors highlighting event value.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in event sponsorships.
  • Manage a comprehensive sponsorship sales pipeline and report progress regularly.
  • Ensure sponsors receive maximum value and exposure during events through effective activation strategies.
  • Analyze sponsorship performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Host and attend events, meetings, and industry functions to facilitate networking and relationship building.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sponsorship dealings and contracts for transparency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, event management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales, marketing, or business development roles.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and revenue growth in sponsorships.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills essential for success.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data effectively.
  • Experience in the event industry with a comprehensive understanding of sponsorship.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
