To provide assurance to the Head of Safety and Security that security is being managed effectively and risk is reduced to a level as low as reasonably practicable.

  • To develop, implement and maintain aviation security management systems to continually improve dans Security performance and ensure compliance with ICAO, GCAA and internationally accepted safety management requirements and best practice.
  • To maintain and improve dans Information Security Management System (ISMS) with a focus on aviation security and ensure compliance with aviation regulations across dans.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience:

  • ICAO approved aerodrome and/or approach radar courses equivalent to tertiary education level.
  • Appropriate academic qualifications. An undergraduate degree in Business, or Aviation or related discipline is desirable and an MBA or other advanced related degree would be preferred.
  • Certified ATC investigator.
  • Completed Risk management course.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations and GCAA CARs.
  • Possesses knowledge of the UAE Federal and Dubai Government Law, Information Security Regulation (ISR) and GCAA regulations
  • Possesses a strong yet practical intellect and an ability to absorb input from multiple internal and external constituencies and to translate these into actionable plans and approaches.
  • Possesses the ability to multi-task and analyze situations promptly and without bias so as to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without jeopardizing safety, quality and committed performance targets.
  • The candidate should have previous experience in managing diverse teams. In addition, the candidate should ideally have held certificates of competency in ATC disciplines for a minimum of 5 years. They should have extensive experience in safety and security incident investigations. Knowledge of all elements of service delivery with regards to Air navigation Service provision, and specific experience in the application of an aviation SMS, i.e. safety analysis & risk assessment is essential.
  • Relationship management experience, with strong inter-personal and communication skills to enable strong leadership and effective teamwork.
