Job Summary

  • Part of the CMPS (Capital Markets Products and Sales) Team focussing on:
  • Structured Products - Pricing and execution of equity derivatives (structured products) and structured products from other asset classes such as FX, Interest rates, Fixed Income, mutual funds and commodities.
  • Fixed Income – Pricing and execution of Bond trades.
  • Foreign Exchange – Quoting and booking of Foreign Exchange Transactions
  • Cash Equity – Cash equity support for frontline
  • Engage and interact closely with Retail bank Front Office on generation of trade ideas and pricing and execution of trades that meet customer needs.
  • Ensuring accurate and proper execution of orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prepare and present weekly trade ideas to the front office.
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with external banks and counterparties on product development and idea generation.
  • Support end to end documentation and sales process cycle for product/idea generation.
  • Provide support to front office to achieve the financial targets of the WRB segment.
  • Assist CMPS business partners in other geographical regions to provide seamless advice and execution for truly world class service across geographies and time zones.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work Seamlessly with other Parts of the Bank
  • Conducting new RM inductions and product Calls.
  • Ensure Efficient and timely execution of trades.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide business support and execute FX deals and day to day activities in FX
  • To execute Structured Note Deals.
  • Provide a high standard of client sales, advisory and after sales service.
  • Minimize operating losses and assists the business in following business practices to ensure a minimum satisfactory rating in business Audit’s.
  • Maintaining good relationship and to work closely with internal and external stakeholders including the front, middle and back offices.
  • Ad hoc projects in relation to specific aspects of execution and desk activities.
  • Deal Execution on Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income & Structured Notes. Complete ownership on rate quoting, booking, execution, amending and settlement in system.
  • Help build SP, FI and FX business for UAE.
  • Ownership of the product end to end.
  • Assist in optimizing existing processes.
  • Manage risk for the Bank and advise clients on best practices for their risk management as well.Strictly follow the Governance Standards of the Bank.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the CMPS Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Skills And Experience

  • Experience in banking and knowledge of wealth management products is preferrable.
  • Should have prior experience as a dealer or trader.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Well organized, disciplined approach to work with a high level of attention to details.
  • Computer literature and competent in spreadsheet presentation.
  • Experience in Macros and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) would be a plus
  • Experience in Structured products/Foreign exchange/Fixed Income/Mutual Fund/Commodities/Derivatives/Equities/Interest rates.
  • Basic analytical and technical skills that can be practically applied to day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

Degree(s) in relevant subjects such as Business, Economics and Finance related preferred.
