Job Description

An Associate - Fleet Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth execution of all fleet operations within a company. They are responsible for managing a fleet of vehicles, coordinating with drivers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high service standards. The role requires an analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. An ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational abilities and a passion for optimizing operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage day-to-day fleet operations to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with drivers to efficiently assign and dispatch vehicles as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance, and service schedules.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fleet management strategies.
  • Ensure all fleet activities are conducted in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule timely inspections and repairs.
  • Track fleet expenses and assist in budget preparation and cost-control initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Develop and analyze fleet performance reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate service terms and conditions.
  • Assist in optimizing routes and load capacities to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of driver staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in fleet management or a similar logistics role is required.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet operational dynamics.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficient in using fleet management software and other relevant tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments and demands.
