An Assistant Shopkeeper plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of a retail store or shop. Responsibilities

  • Handle transactions at the cash register, ensuring accuracy in sales and change.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the shop premises at all times.
  • Help in maintaining the inventory by keeping track of stock levels regularly.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for restocking necessary items promptly.
  • Assist in promotional and marketing activities to boost shop sales and visibility.
  • Address and resolve any customer complaints or escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop.
  • Contribute to team meetings, providing insights and reporting on daily operations.
  • Train and guide new staff members or interns as required by the shopkeeper.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
