Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Nurse to join our Outpatient Department (OPD) team. The primary focus of the Assistant Nurse will be to provide exceptional patient care and ensure the smooth operation of daily activities within the OPD. This position requires an individual who is not only clinically skilled but also adept at managing administrative tasks, fostering a supportive environment for patients and families, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. A successful Assistant Nurse will maintain patient confidentiality and uphold all relevant regulatory and professional standards.


Responsibilities

  • Assist patients by providing necessary information and inviting them to scheduled appointments.
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are fully stocked and sanitized before each patient visit.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update medical charts with precision and attention to detail.
  • Assist in performing diagnostic tests under the supervision of a licensed practitioner.
  • Provide clerical support including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient files.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by registered nurses or physicians.
  • Ensure all equipment is functional, clean, and properly organized in treatment and examination areas.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention where applicable.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and coordinate patient flow throughout the OPD.
  • Monitor and restock supplies and inform the supervisor about inventory status regularly.

Requirements

  • Must have completed a recognized nursing assistant training program or equivalent certification.
  • Prior experience in an outpatient or hospital setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional, friendly demeanor is essential.
  • Proficiency in EHR software and understanding of medical terminology is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Compassionate with a genuine concern for the well-being of patients and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
