Assistant Finance Manager

The Role

The global consulting firm is hiring an Assistant Manager for its Financial Reporting Advisory Services (FRAS) team in the UAE. The FRAS team sits within the Assurance service line and works with clients across multiple industry sectors. The role covers project management, client liaison, and advisory work on complex accounting and financial reporting matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage small to medium-sized projects and engagements, leading the team to perform efficiently and profitably.
• Liaise directly with clients to address their needs and provide solutions to complex accounting challenges.
• Apply IFRS accounting standards research, including accounting framework transitions, GAAP conversions, changes in accounting standards, and comparisons of accounting practices across companies.
• Review work for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and deliver tailored training to improve the quality of financial reporting.
• Monitor team progress against project plans and adjust as needed.
• Consult with clients on complex accounting issues.
• Understand clients\' industries, including key performance drivers and business trends.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, sharing knowledge and helping team members build technical competencies.
• Use technology to enhance service delivery and share knowledge within the team.
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Detailed knowledge of IFRS and GAAP conversions, changes in accounting standards, and complex accounting matters.
• Experience managing client relationships and addressing complex financial reporting challenges.
• Ability to review work for accuracy and compliance.
• Experience in financial process review and financial controls.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing work.
