An Assistant Design Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the design team by overseeing various aspects of the project management process. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with design team to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Assist in developing project schedules and track and update timelines accordingly.
  • Support in budgeting activities and monitor project expenses meticulously.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and project teams to maintain rapport.
  • Ensure all design documentation is up-to-date and maintained properly.
  • Provide creative input and help resolve design challenges efficiently.
  • Review design deliverables for accuracy and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Participate in meetings and provide updates on project progress to stakeholders.
  • Assist in the research of materials and technologies for design projects.
  • Manage vendor relationships and support procurement activities by liaising with suppliers.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations effectively.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of design processes and methodologies.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in design project management necessary.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to collaborate and work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment is crucial.
  • Knowledge of the latest design trends and materials in the industry is beneficial.
  • Capability to problem-solve and engage in critical thinking for complex issues.
  • Availability to travel as required for project meetings or site visits.
